Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
Best for mobile (Android/iOS) and many modern roasters/accessories.
- Typical experience: scan nearby devices inside HiBean and bind.
- Guide: Connect First Device
Classic Bluetooth (SPP)
Best for devices that explicitly advertise SPP / Bluetooth Serial / Serial Port.
- Windows often requires system-level pairing before HiBean can discover devices.
- Guide (Windows): Windows Classic Bluetooth (SPP)
- macOS uses a nearby inquiry scan, so keep the device discoverable/pairable when binding.
- Guide (macOS): macOS Classic Bluetooth (SPP)
Wi-Fi (Socket / IP)
Best for devices that expose a local network connection (often labeled "Wi-Fi" in HiBean).
- Typical experience: choose Wi-Fi as the connection type and enter the device IP.
- Make sure the computer/phone and the roaster are on the same LAN.
- Guide: Update Connection Settings (Wi-Fi section)
Serial (USB / COM)
Some devices expose a serial interface via USB, or via Windows Bluetooth-to-COM mapping.
- In HiBean, choose the Serial connection option (if available for your model), then select the correct port.
- If you don’t see a Serial option for your model in HiBean, it may not be supported yet.
